- New York:
As popular TV host Stephen Colbert’s show The Late Show was cancelled by CBS, the big names of the late-night TV world appeared together on the same stage. In this historic episode, big names like John Stewart, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Myers, John Oliver and Anderson Cooper joined Colbert.

- Was it just an “economic decision”?
The CBS network officially said that the decision to end the show was taken for “purely financial reasons”. But questions are being raised that if The Late Show was the highest rated late-night show in America, then why was it closed?
- Colbert responded in his own way:
- Stephen Colbert himself raised the question and said:
- “If our show is No. 1, how can it be an economic decision to close it?”
- Trump’s reaction and Colbert’s reply
- Soon after CBS’s announcement, former US President Donald Trump wrote on “Truth Social”:
- “I am very happy that Colbert was removed. He had neither talent nor ratings.”
“Go f**k yourself. This Cancel Culture has crossed the line. I am the martyr. And let me tell you — the view from this cross is spectacular!”
Possibility of political conspiracy?
According to reports, CBS’s parent company Paramount Global is currently in the process of an $8 billion merger with Skydance Media. Skydance founder David Ellison is considered close to Trump.
This month, Paramount quietly settled a $16 million lawsuit filed by Trump over the editing of an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Colbert quipped:
“That’s just plain bribery.”
Highlights from the show’s final episode
A viral concert moment from Coldplay was hilariously recreated, with the camera panning to the audience and Andy Cohen kissing Anderson Cooper.
Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers were shown celebrating with beers.
An animated Donald Trump was seen ‘spun’ the Paramount logo — and then Colbert said:
“Your song is now canceled. This is a purely financial decision.”
Lin-Manuel Miranda commented:
“Please don’t let anyone say that this isn’t because of the person we put the spotlight on.”
